Ceiling Drywall Patch for Can Lights

Howdy!

I’m launching this new category with photos of my work last week. I finished patching the holes in the ceiling from can lights that were improperly placed. We will be asking the electricians to reinstall them to make all 8 can lights symmetrical with the island pendant lights.

So, what happened? We marked the recessed can lights for the electricians and they put them there. However, we made the mistake of assuming the bar was centered with the vent hood. This is not the case.

The island pendant lights are centered with the bar correctly. Looking at them we noticed the can lights and pendant lights were not symmetrical. Of the 8 can lights in the kitchen, the electricians will reinstall the four lights on the right we pushed into the attic. We will ensure the space between the cans and pendants are equal.

Make sure to center the kitchen lights with the bar, not the vent hood. They are not always aligned with each other. Lesson learned. Building is easy.
